ANNOUNCEMENTS

*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST

CHORAL INTROIT:

"Let's Prepare," John D Hedges/arr Lynn Kennedy

####

Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin: (Isaiah 11)

Leader: A shoot shall come out from the stump of Jesse,

People: A branch shall grow out of his roots.

Leader: The spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him,

People: The spirit of wisdom and understanding,

Leader: The spirit of counsel and might,

People: The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.

Leader: For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD

People: As the waters cover the sea.

(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn)

*SONGS OF PRAISE #40 (Blue Hymnal)

"Joy to the World!"

(Lector only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletin.

**COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR

Righteous God:

Shepherds left their flocks

To bow before the baby Jesus.

We confess that we have not always

Left the busy affairs of life to bow before Him.

We have bowed before shrines of our own making

Rather than before the lowly manger.

Forgive our negligence.

Lift us up and fill us with peace, grace, and truth.

Amen.

RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:

(Lector only)

Christ came into the world to save sinners. He has rescued us from sin. Receive His forgiveness with grateful hearts and lives of service.
