"Lead me to the rock that is higher than I." Psalm 61:2
ANNOUNCEMENTS
*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST
CHORAL INTROIT:
"Let's Prepare," John D Hedges/arr Lynn Kennedy
Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin: (From Psalm 132)
Leader: Let us go into His dwelling place;
People: Let us worship at His footstool.
Leader: Arise, O Lord, to Your resting place,
People: You are the ark of Your strength.
Leader: Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness
People: And let Your godly ones sing for joy.
(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn)
*SONGS OF PRAISE #25 (Red Hymnal)
"Immortal, Invisible"
(Lector only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletin.
**COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR
Gracious God: We often forget Your abundant
gifts of love and grace.
We ignore the fact that You have given to
us a place of refuge.
We desire what the world has to offer;
We depend too much upon our own strength
to build our house of rest.
Forgive our foolish ways and lead us
to the rock that is higher than we;
to the refuge in the shelter of Your wings. Amen.
RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:
(Lector only) (from Psalm 62)
Our souls wait in silence for God only, for our hope is in Him. He only is our rock and our salvation. In Him we have forgiveness.
APOSTLES' CREED
