GATHERING FOR WORSHIP

"Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple,

they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts..." Acts 2:46

ANNOUNCEMENTS

*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST

CHORAL INTROIT:

"We Have Come to Worship the Lord," Charles Yannerella

**

Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin: (From Isaiah 65)

Leader: "For I am about to create new heavens and a new earth;

People: The former things shall not be remembered, or come to mind.

Leader: But be glad and rejoice forever in what I am creating;

People: For I am about to create Jerusalem as a joy, and its people as a delight...

Leader: The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, the lion shall eat straw like the ox...

People: They shall not hurt or destroy on all my holy mountain, says the Lord." (After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn.)

*SONGS OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP: #559 (Blue Hymnal)

"We Gather Together"

(Lector Only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletin.

**COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR

Lord God:

We thank you for another harvest from your creation,

Which sustains us in spite of our careless

stewardship of it.

Forgive our greed, our desire to have more and more,

When many struggle for enough to simply live.

Forgive us for focusing more on what we have,

Than on what you have done for us!

Forgive us for thanking ourselves

instead of your providence.

Let us praise you not only with our lips, but our lives!

Amen

RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:

As far as the east is from the west, so far does God remove our sin from us! In Christ, we find forgiveness.
