ANNOUNCEMENTS

*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST

CHORAL INTROIT:

"Let's Prepare," John D Hedges/arr Lynn Kennedy

Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin: (From 1 Corinthians 12, The Message)

Leader: God's various gifts are handed out everywhere;

People: But they all originate in God's Spirit.

Leader: God's various ministries are carried out everywhere;

People: but they all originate in God's Spirit.

Leader: God's various expressions of power are in action everywhere;

People: But the hand of God is behind it all.

All: Let us worship the God of gifts.

(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn)

*SONGS OF PRAISE #1 (Red Hymnal)

"Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee"

(Lector only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletin.

**COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR

Gracious God:

You have filled us with your Spirit;

You have given gifts galore.

You have blessed us with wisdom

and knowledge and means to develop these gifts.

Yet we often suppress the Spirit;

we stumble over the gifts;

We deny that we have abilities.

Forgive our foolish and neglectful ways.

Open our eyes to see, our ears to hear,

our minds to receive all Your gifts.

With humble hearts, we pray. Amen

RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:

(Lector only)

If we ask; we receive. If we seek; we find. If we knock; doors are opened. Waling in His light, we have forgiveness through Jesus Christ our Lord.

APOSTLES' CREED
