*****
Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin (from Romans 14)
Leader: "We do not live to ourselves.
People: And we do not die to ourselves.
Leader: If we live, we live to the Lord.
People: And if we die, we die to the Lord.
Leader: So then, whether we live, or whether we die,
People: We are the Lord's!"
Please stand, as able, and sing our Song of Praise to God #467 in the Blue Hymnal "How Great Thou Art"
(Lector only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletins.
*COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR:
Gracious God:
We know that all our failures and shortcomings
Stand revealed in the clear light of Your goodness.
We ask Your forgiveness.
Forgive our pride, hardness of heart,
Self sufficiency, and willful wrongdoing.
Forgive our readiness to blame, and our lack
Of thoughtfulness, patience, kindness, and sympathy.
Forgive our sins, and let the mind of Christ be formed in us! Amen.
RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:
(Lector only)
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Please remain standing, as able, and let us sing our Song of Gratitude For Forgiveness Received, found on page 579 in the Blue hymnal.
