Revelation 1:17-18

ANNOUNCEMENTS

*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST

PREPARING OUR HEARTS AND MINDS FOR WORSHIP:

"Christians, Awake!" Edward Broughton

***

Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin: (from Psalm 71)
Leader
:  "In you, O Lord, I take refuge...
People:  Incline your ear to me and save me.
Leader
:  Be to me a rock of refuge,
People:  A strong fortress to save me,
All:  For you are my rock and my fortress!"

(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn.)

*SONGS OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP: #106 (Red Hymnal)

"Praise Him! Praise Him!"

(Lector Only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletin.

**COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR

Almighty God, when we stand in your holy presence
We become aware of our sin, ignorance and frailty.
We have erred in the desires of our hearts.
We have strayed from your ways in ignorance.
In our frailty, we have given in to temptation.
Lord, have mercy upon us!
Spare those who confess their faults.
Restore those who are penitent,
And transform us to live more righteous lives,
To the glory of your holy name.
Amen
