ANNOUNCEMENTS
*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST
PREPARING OUR HEARTS AND MINDS FOR WORSHIP:
"Three New England Hymns"
Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin: (From Psalm
111)
Leader: "Praise the Lord! I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart.
People: Great are the works of the Lord,
Leader: Studied by all who delight in them.
People: Full of honor and majesty is his work,
Leader: And his righteousness endures forever.
People: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
Leader: All those who practice it have a good understanding.
People: His praise endures forever!"
(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn)
*SONG OF PRAISE # 58 (Red) "This Is My Father's World"
(Lector only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletin.
**COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR
Lord,
Forgive us for times we sleep-walk through worship,
For singing words without considering them,
For focusing on what we get more than what we give!
You call us here for a purpose:
To move beyond ourselves in praise,
To reach out and encourage others,
To grow in our faith,
And find Your strength for the week ahead!
Correct, nourish and direct us, we pray!
Amen
RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:
(Lector only)
As far as the east is from the west, so far does God remove our sins from us. In His mercy, may we find new life!
