(Lector only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletin.

Lord,
Forgive us for times we sleep-walk through worship,
For singing words without considering them,
For focusing on what we get more than what we give!
You call us here for a purpose:
To move beyond ourselves in praise,
To reach out and encourage others,
To grow in our faith,
And find Your strength for the week ahead!
Correct, nourish and direct us, we pray!
