ANNOUNCEMENTS
*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST
PREPARING OUR HEARTS AND MINDS FOR WORSHIP:
The Solid Brass: "Sonata"
******
Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin: (from Psalm 50)
Leader: The mighty one, God the Lord,
speaks and summons the earth
People: From the rising of the sun to its setting...
Leader: "Every wild animal of the forest is mine,
People: The cattle on a thousand hills.
Leader: Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving,
People: And pay your vows to the Most High.
Leader: Call on me in the day of trouble;
People: I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me."
(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn.)
*SONGS OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP: #430 (Blue Hymnal)
"Come Sing, O Church, in Joy!"
(Lector Only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletin.
**COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR
We open our lips to praise you,
but we do not always open our hearts.
We stand near others in worship,
but may be hesitant to let them into our lives.
We have made ourselves too busy for relationships.
Forgive us for taking from our family of faith,
but not giving back.
Create within us deep love for one another,
That we may truly say "Blessed be the tie that binds."
Amen
