ANNOUNCEMENTS
PREPARING OUR HEARTS AND MINDS FOR WORSHIP
***
Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletins: (from Psalm 107):
Leader: "O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
People: For his steadfast love endures forever.
Leader: Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
People: For his wonderful works to humankind."
All: Let us worship God!
Please stand and sing our Songs of Praise to God #476 from the Blue hymnal "O Worship the King, All Glorious Above"
Lector only: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletins.
*COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR:
Lord God:
You are our loving Heavenly Father,
You have loved us since before we were born.
You have called to us in love,
Yet we have ignored you and gone our own way.
Forgive us for failing to see how much you love us,
And the eternal appeal you extend to us from the cross!
Amen
RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:
(Lector only)
Hear the good news! Anyone who is in Christ
is a new creation. The old life has gone;
a new life has begun.
In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven!
We stand as forgiven people; turn to your neighbors with "The peace of Christ!"
Please remain standing as we affirm our faith, saying together the traditional version of the Apostle's Creed on page 14 in the blue hymnal.
