ANNOUNCEMENTS

*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST

PREPARING OUR HEARTS AND MINDS FOR WORSHIP:

"Glory to His Name," Franklin Ritter

Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin: (From Psalm 24)
Leader
: "The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it,
People:  The world, and those who live in it;
Leader
:  For he has founded it on the seas,
People:  And established it on the rivers.
Leader
:  Lift up your heads, O gates!
People:  And be lifted up, O ancient doors!
Leader:
That the king of glory may come in.
People:  Who is the King of glory?
Leader
:  The Lord of hosts,
People:  He is the King of glory!"

(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn)

*SONG OF PRAISE #485 (Blue Hymnal)

"To God Be the Glory"

(Lector only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletin.

**COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR

Lord God:
We confess that we have often been ungrateful family members,
in the family in which we were born,
and in the family of believers You call us to.
Too often we have said "Me first!"
And too often, we have lived that way.
Forgive us for times we have taken
the love and efforts of others for granted.
Forgive us for expecting much, but contributing little.
Forgive us for being so quick to see short-comings in

others, and so slow to confess our own.
Comfort the truly repentant with your nurturing love.
Amen

RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:

(Lector only)

"The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting.
In the name of Jesus Christ we are forgiven."
