GATHERING FOR WORSHIP

"I take no delight in your solemn assemblies...But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever flowing stream."  (Amos 5:21-24)

ANNOUNCEMENTS

*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST

PREPARING OUR HEARTS AND MINDS FOR WORSHIP

Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin: (from Psalm 30)
Leader
:  "Sing praises to the Lord, O you his faithful ones,
People:  And give thanks to his holy name.
Leader
:  For his anger is but for a moment; his favor is for a lifetime.
People:  Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning!"

(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn.)

*SONGS OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP: #476 (Blue Hymnal)

"O Worship the King, All Glorious Above"

(Lector Only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletin.

**COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR

O Lord,
Forgive us for focusing on what we can get,

rather than give, as we gather here today.
Forgive us for focusing on what we can get,

rather than give, on Mondays through Saturdays as well!
Remind us of the joy of giving praise,
to You, to those who serve us and others!
Remind us of the joy of giving of our time
and substance, to encourage and lift up.
Save us from trying to "give"

that which costs us nothing, to You and others.
Accept the living sacrifice of our time,

talents and treasures!
Amen.
