*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST
PREPARING OUR HEARTS AND MINDS FOR WORSHIP:
"Melody for Strings," Ralph Burkhart
Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin: (from Psalm 89)
Leader: Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne;
People: Lovingkindness and truth go before you.
Leader: How blessed are the people who know the joyful sound!
People: In Your name they rejoice all the day,
Leader: And by Your righteousness they are exalted
People: for You are the glory of their strength.
(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn)
*SONG OF PRAISE: #25 (Red Hymnal) "Immortal, Invisible"
(Lector only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletins.
*COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR:
Lord God:
We often forget the way you have shown us your glory,
and there are times when we neglect
to live in your glory, and selfishly
we often fail to share your glory with those around us.
Forgive us for our neglectful and forgetful ways.
Do not hold your glory from us,
fill our lives with its brightness,
and lead us in paths that will glorify you.
Amen.
