"What does this mean?"  (Acts 2:12)

ANNOUNCEMENTS

*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST

CHORAL INTROIT:

"The Lord Is in His Holy Temple," Lloyd Larson

****

Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin: (From Psalm 104)
Leader
: "Lord...when you send forth your spirit, they are created;
People:  And you renew the face of the ground.
Leader
:  May the glory of the Lord endure forever;
People:  May the Lord rejoice in his works.
Leader
:  I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
People:  I will sing praise to my God."

(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn)

*SONG OF PRAISE: #130 (Blue Hymnal)

"Let Every Christian Pray"

(Lector only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletins.

*COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR:

Almighty and gracious God:
We confess that we have failed
To open our hearts to the power of Your Spirit.
We speak in tongues that confuse rather than clarify,
Hurt rather than heal.
We pray for the gift of forgiveness from You,
And the gift of fellowship with each other.
Restore our fractured lives, that with one voice,
we may ever give You thanks and praise!
Amen

RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:

(Lector only)

When we come to God with humble and contrite hearts, He forgives us and hides us in His love.  In Christ Jesus we are forgiven!

(Stay at lectern until Song of Gratitude is sung then move to congregation)
