*SONGS OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP: #466 (Blue Hymnal)
"O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing"
(Lector Only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletin.
**COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR
Lord God:
You commissioned your church and love it still.
We need the Spirit like never before!
Forgive us for the times we seek to live by spirits
other than yours!
Thank you that the Spirit has persisted among us,
Inspiring our attempts at outreach,
Helping us to see others as brothers and sisters.
Grant us the courage to spread Good News
With others near and far.
Inspire, renew, and direct us, we pray!
Amen.
RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:
(Lector Only)
God promises to kindle within us the fire of his love,
to forgive and strengthen us for service in his kingdom!
