ANNOUNCEMENTS
*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST
PREPARING OUR HEARTS AND MINDS FOR WORSHIP
*****
Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletins (from Psalm
104):
Leader: "May the glory of the Lord endure forever;
People: May the Lord rejoice in his works.
Leader: I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
People: I will sing praise to my God while I have being.
Leader: When You send forth Your spirit, they are created;
People: And You renew the face of the ground."
(After the choir sings the introit, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. Do NOT announce the hymn.)
*SONG OF PRAISE #142 (Blue Hymnal)
"All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name!"
(Lector only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletins.
*COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR:
Almighty God, You poured Your Spirit
upon gathered disciples,
creating a new community of faith.
We confess that we hold back
the force of Your Spirit among us.
We may fail to listen to Your word of grace,
to speak the good news of Your love,
to live as a people made one in Christ.
Have mercy on us, O God.
Transform our timid lives by the power of Your Spirit,
and fill us with a flaming desire to be Your faithful people.
Amen
RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:
(Lector only)
Only open ears, open hearts, open minds can receive the
Spirit God desires to touch us with. In Him, we find new
hope and new life!
Please remain standing as we affirm our faith, saying together the traditional version of the Apostle's Creed on page 14 in the blue hymnal.
