ANNOUNCEMENTS

*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST

CHORAL INTROIT:

"The Lord Is in His Holy Temple," Lloyd Larson

Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin : (From Psalm 23)
Leader
: "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
People:  He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters;
Leader
:  He restores my soul.  He leads me in right paths for his name's sake.
People:  Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff--they comfort me.
Leader
:  You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
People:  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long."

(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn)

*SONG OF PRAISE: #263 (Blue Hymnal)

"Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise"

(Lector only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletins.

*COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR:

Lord God:
We know only a little of Your greatness,
For many of our hours are filled with smaller concerns.
We need the truth of Your word,
But have set aside little time for the study of it.
We need Your Spirit's power,
But have relied on our own strength.
Forgive us, Lord!
Make us hungry to be faithful people,
Who find in You our shepherd!
Amen

RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:

(Lector only)

When we come to God with humble and contrite hearts, He forgives us and hides us in His love.  In Christ Jesus we are forgiven!

(Stay at lectern until Song of Gratitude is sung then move to congregation)
