GATHERING FOR WORSHIP

"He is our peace; in his flesh he has made both groups into one

and has broken down the dividing wall, that is,

the hostility between us." Ephesians 2:14

ANNOUNCEMENTS

*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST

CHORAL INTROIT:

"Let's Prepare," John D Hedges/arr Lynn Kennedy

***

Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin: (from Psalm 30)
Leader
: Sing praises to the Lord, O you his faithful ones,
People: And give thanks to his holy name.
Leader
: For his anger is but for a moment;
People: His favor is for a lifetime.
Leader:
 Weeping may linger for the night,
People: But joy comes with the morning!

(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn.)

*SONG OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP: #483 (Blue Hymnal)

"Sing Praise to God, Who Reigns Above"

(Lector Only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletin.

**COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR

Lord God,
We come into your presence with praise.
Forgive us, Lord,

for times we have taken your goodness for granted;
For times we have put our agendas

ahead of your purposes.
We confess that we have insisted on our own way,,
And counted on our own resources.
We have become stubborn, proud, and isolated.
We have cut ourselves off from others,
And find ourselves lost without you!
Restore us to the community you offer us.
Forgive our foolishness, and let us seek
Once more to do justice, love mercy,
And walk humbly with you.
Amen
