Preparing Our Hearts and Minds for Worship

Responsive Words of Worship (from Psalm 118)

Leader: The LORD is my strength and my might;

he has become my salvation.

People: We shall not die, but we shall live,

and recount the deeds of the LORD.

Leader: I thank you that you have answered me

and have become my salvation.

People: The stone that the builders rejected

has become the chief cornerstone. This is the LORD's doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.

Leader: Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the LORD.

People: We bless you from the house of the LORD.

Song of Praise #226 (Red) The Day of Resurrection

*SONG OF PRAISE #226 (Red Hymnal)

"The Day of Resurrection"

*COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR:

Coming Clean Before Our Creator

Lord of Life,

We worship You this morning as the only God

Who gives life and life eternal.

We come grateful for the life You have given us,

And uncomfortably aware of how poorly we have used it.

You fill us with the Holy Spirit,

Yet we have kept that bottled up,

Unwilling to share the hope we have with others.

Forgive us, Lord, for being too cautious

to speak our faith,

For failing to live our joy out loud,

For ignoring the needs of those around us

who do not know You.

Set Your Spirit free within us,

That we might reach out in all we do and say,

That Your hope might reach to all people.

For we ask this in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Receiving Forgiveness

The mercy of the Lord

is from everlasting to everlasting.

I declare to you, in the name of Jesus Christ,

you are forgiven.

May the God of mercy,

who forgives you all your sins,

strengthen you in all goodness,

and by the power of the Holy Spirit

keep you in eternal life.
