*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST
CHORAL INTROIT:
"Let's Prepare," John D Hedges/arr Lynn Kennedy
*****
Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin: (From Psalm 29)
Leader: The voice of the Lord is upon the waters;
People: The God of glory thunders.
Leader: The voice of the Lord is powerful;
People: The voice of the Lord is majestic.
All: And in His temple everything says "Glory."
(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn.)
*SONG OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP: #220 (Red Hymnal)
"He Lives"
(Lector Only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletin.
**COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR
Merciful God:
We often stray from Your ways.
Though You have lifted us out of sin;
We continue to offend by our actions.
We, in our humanness, forget what You have done for us;
How You continue to give grace and mercy.
Lift us out of the miry clay of sin,
And set us upon the solid rock.
Lead us into the presence of the risen Christ.
Forgive us, cleanse us, keep us close to You.
In Jesus' name. Amen.
RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:
(Lector Only)
"Come unto me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Your sins and lawless deeds I will remember no more. For we have been crucified with Christ, and he lives in us, and we have been raised with him as forgiven people."
