ANNOUNCEMENTS
*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST
CHORAL INTROIT:
"The Lord Is in His Holy Temple," Lloyd Larson
Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin (Psalm 118)
Leader: "Open to me the gates of righteousness,
People: That I may enter through them and give thanks to the Lord.
Leader: The stone that the builders rejected
People: Has become the chief cornerstone.
Leader: Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.
People: Bind the festal procession with branches!
Leader: This is the day that the Lord has made;
People: Let us rejoice and be glad in it."
(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn)
*SONG OF PRAISE #88 (Blue Hymnal)
"All Glory, Laud, and Honor"
(Lector only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletin.
*COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR:
Lord God,
You are the King of Glory and Prince of Peace!
To You we open the portals of our hearts.
Forgive us for the hypocrisy which sings "Hosanna"
On Palm Sunday, but turns aside when You are suffering.
Deliver us from the treason which boasts loyalty in the
upper room,
But makes a denial of You in the courtyards of power.
When the palms have withered, the songs have died
And the streets are empty, may we find ourselves
At the end of life's day still with You,
Awaiting the eternal sunrise.
Amen (Adapted from Wallace Petty)
RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:
