:  "The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul;
People:  The decrees of the Lord are sure, making wise the simple...
Leader
:  The commandment of the Lord is clear, enlightening the eyes...
People:  The ordinances of the Lord are true and righteous altogether...
Leader
:  Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
People:  Be acceptable to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer."

(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn)

*SONG OF PRAISE #60 (Red Hymnal)

"Morning Has Broken"

(Lector only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletin.

*COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR:

Lord God,
You took the risk of sending Your Son to give His life for us.
Forgive us for only taking the kind of risks that bring us
More money, power and acclaim.
Help us to take the risk of following You.
Help us to say "no" to that which separates us from You.
If there is a cross for us,
Let us not pass by on the other side,
But take it up, finding that Another walks beside us!
In Your Son's name we pray,
Amen

RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:

The mercies of the Lord are from everlasting to everlasting
Upon those of humble hearts, and open hands!
