Lord God:
We have hidden impure motives behind pious words.
We've tried to cover up selfish acts with good deeds.
We've sought to draw attention to ourselves
More than to You!
Sometimes we keep the letter of the law,
But ignore the intention behind Your teaching.
Forgive us, and save us from spiritual death.
