GATHERING FOR WORSHIP

"Let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action."  (I John 3:18)

ANNOUNCEMENTS

*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST

PREPARING OUR HEARTS AND MINDS FOR WORSHIP

Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletins: (from Psalm 130):
Leader
:  "O Israel, hope in the Lord!
People:  For with the Lord there is steadfast love,
Leader:
And with him is great power to redeem.
People:  It is he who will redeem Israel from all its iniquities."
All:  Let us worship God!

(After the choir sings the introit, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. Do NOT announce the hymn.)

CHORAL INTROIT: "Praise the Lord," Boyd Bacon

*SONG OF PRAISE #371 (Blue Hymnal) "Lift High the Cross"

(Lector only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletins.

*COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR:

Lord God:
We have hidden impure motives behind pious words.
We've tried to cover up selfish acts with good deeds.
We've sought to draw attention to ourselves
More than to You!
Sometimes we keep the letter of the law,
But ignore the intention behind Your teaching.
Forgive us, and save us from spiritual death.
Amen

RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:

To those who truly repent, God says
"Come home to me with shouts of joy, for the
harvest of salvation is yours!"
