ANNOUNCEMENTS
*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST
CHORAL INTROIT:
"Let's Prepare," John D Hedges/arr Lynn Kennedy
*****
Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin: (from Psalm 63)
Leader: O God, you are my God, I seek you, my soul thirsts for you;
People: My soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
Leader: So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory.
People: Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.
Leader: So I will bless you as long as I live;
People: I will lift up my hands and call on your name."
(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn.)
*SONG OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP: #485 (Blue Hymnal)
"To God Be the Glory"
(Lector Only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletin.
**COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR
Everlasting God,
We praise you that you are faithful and true.
And we, your children, long to be like you!
Forgive us for preferring earthly comfort
to godly character.
Forgive us for choosing habits
that do not conform us in your image.
Forgive us the excuses that we have made this week
For taking the easy way,
missing opportunities to do good.
Help us to abide in your word,
That we might be transformed by your truth.
We ask all these things in Jesus' name,
Amen.
RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:
(Lector Only)
As far as the east is from the west, so far does our Lord remove our transgressions from us!
