GATHERING FOR WORSHIP

ANNOUNCEMENTS
*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST
CHORAL INTROIT:
"Let's Prepare," John D Hedges/arr Lynn Kennedy
***
Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin: (Psalm 27:11-14)
Leader: "Teach me your way, O Lord, and lead me on a level path because of my enemies.
People: Do not give me up to the will of my adversaries, for false witnesses have risen against me, and they are
breathing out violence.
Leader: I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
People: Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!
(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn)
*SONG OF PRAISE: #6 (Red Hymnal)
"Sing Praise to God Who Reigns Above"
(Lector only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletins.
*COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR:
Gracious God,
We open our lips to praise you,
but we do not always open our hearts.
We stand near many brothers and sisters in church,
but we haven't let them into our lives.
We have made ourselves too busy for new relationships,
and we have neglected to nurture ties with old friends.
Forgive us, Lord, for taking, but not giving back.
Take away our hearts of stone
and give us tender hearts.
Restore to us deep love for one another,
we ask in our Savior's name. Amen
RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:

The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting. I declare to you, in the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.
