Colossians 3:13

ANNOUNCEMENTS

*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST

CHORAL INTROIT:

"The Lord Is in His Holy Temple," Lloyd Larson

Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin (from Psalm 89)

Leader: Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne;

People: steadfast love and faithfulness go before you.

Leader: Happy are the people who know the festal shout,

People: who walk, O Lord, in the light of your countenance;

Leader: they exult in your name all day long,

People: and extol your righteousness.

(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn)

*SONG OF PRAISE #485 (Blue Hymnal) "To God Be the Glory"

(Lector only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletin.

*COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR:

Forgiving Father:

We confess that we want your forgiveness

But we don't want to forgive others.

We often ignore the need to forgive

And think only of getting even.

We think only of how we have been hurt

And don't see how we have hurt others.

Forgive our lack of compassion and forgiveness.

Forgive our blindness of heart and mind.

Fill us with a gracious, loving and forgiving heart.

Amen.

RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:

(Lector only)

In Christ our hearts are renewed - we are made a new creation. This comes by God's grace through Jesus Christ. In Him we are forgiven.

(Stay at lectern until Song of Gratitude is sung then move to congregation)
