"Man shall not live on bread alone." Luke 4:4

ANNOUNCEMENTS

*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST

CHORAL INTROIT:

"Let's Prepare," John D Hedges/arr Lynn Kennedy

***

Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin: (from Psalm 100)

Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.

People: Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.

Leader: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise.

People: Give thanks to him, bless his name.

Leader: For the Lord is good;

People: His steadfast love endures forever.

(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn.)

*SONG OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP: #267 (Blue Hymnal)

"All Things Bright and Beautiful"

(Lector Only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletin.

**COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR

Gracious God:

We often are hungry, but for the wrong things.

We too often have asked you to feed us, but with the

wrong food.

We expect you to turn our thoughts and ways into that

which satisfies us.

Forgive our foolishness that we may truly become

hungry for the Bread of Life.

Feed us that we may feed others and be more like you.

Amen.

RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:

(Lector Only)

The Lord's ways are too great for our little minds to understand; but this one thing we know, he has forgiven us through Jesus Christ.
