*SONG OF PRAISE # (485 Blue Hymnal)

"To God Be the Glory"

*COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR:

Lord God:

We confess that we live in an often rude and crude world.

We freely speak words which put down others.

We seek a laugh at the expense of another's ego.

We share bad news about another with glee,

Yet hesitate to speak of You.

Transform us, from the inside out.

Make us "sons and daughters of encouragement" to others.

Help us to speak words that lift up instead of tear down.

Let our mouths be used to praise you,

And our lives to bear Your light and hope.

Amen

*RECEIVING FORGIVENESS

RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:

(Lector only)

There is more forgiveness in God than sin in us!

In the name of Jesus Christ, we find forgiveness!

May His forgiveness be the starting point of new life in us!

We stand as forgiven people; Let us turn and greet our neighbors with "The peace of Christ!"

Please remain standing as we affirm our faith, saying together the ecumenical version of the Nicene Creed on page 15 in the blue hymnal.
