ANNOUNCEMENTS
*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST
CHORAL INTROIT:
"Let's Prepare," John D Hedges/arr Lynn Kennedy
****
Please join me in praising the Lord using the Response printed in your bulletin: (from Psalm 36)
Leader: "How precious is Your steadfast love, O God!
People: All people may take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
Leader: For with You is the fountain of life;
People: In Your light we see light.
Leader: O continue Your steadfast love to those who know You,
People: And Your salvation to the upright of heart!"
(After reciting the Response, indicate with your hands for the congregation to stand for the first hymn. DO NOT announce the hymn.)
*SONG OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP: #482 (Blue Hymnal)
"Praise Ye the Lord, the Almighty"
(Lector Only) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God, using the prayer printed in your bulletin.
**COMING CLEAN BEFORE OUR CREATOR
Lord God:
When we stand before the world, we always want to
"Put our best foot forward"!
But as we come into Your presence, we know that
Even our best foot is worn and bruised!
We can fool all of the people some of the time.
But we can never fool You!
Fortunately, we don't need to.
You know we are earthen vessels,
Yet are willing to place the radiance of Your light
Into the humble containers we possess.
Make us willing vessels, Lord!
For if others may catch a glimpse of Your light
Shining through our flaws, weaknesses and failures,
We will find our greatest glory in Your service!
Amen.
RECEIVING FORGIVENESS:
(Lector Only)
Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day. We look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen: for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.
